London’s own TroyBoi is back with yet another new single from the road. The consistently experimental producer has been on quite the spree recently, dropping a stacked 20-track Left Is Right debut album, a new single titled “Don’t Want” and hitting cities everywhere on his extensive North American tour. He continues that streak today with “Creeper,” an undeniably fitting start to your Halloween night.
Although TroyBoi fans are familiar with the artist’s occasional dark signature, “Creeper” takes things in a ghoulish new direction. The eerie intro draws you in from the first note with a piercing synth accompanied by a haunting vocal sample. The producer slowly but surely layers in his familiar raucous bass and hip-hop-influenced percussion from there, all with that nightmarish synth lurking below the surface.
