Diplo has been an a roll with his sick collaborations and has dope it again. This time around he’s linked up with DRAM on a soulful slow jam "Look Back” that's not at all what we would expect to hear after seeing that these two linked up on a new song.
DRAM's playful raps has been something we look forward to with each and every release, but what we did not expect was for him and Diplo to go for a full blown powerful ballad backed by a guitar-focused instrumental. The production uses hard-hitting drums and refreshing instrumentation laying the foundation for DRAM to shine.
This sounds more like a song that Alabama Shakes would make than Diplo in 2018 and caught us off gaurd like Childish Gambino's last album did when he started rolling out singles. While this isn't at all what we saw coming, we're loving it. Jimmy Fallon also said Diplo has an upcoming EP called California, so stay tuned for more Diplo on the way. DRAM shared the story of how the song came about with him and Diplo having a studio session in Post Malone's studio and finishing it up with help from none other than Skrillex with Tinashe on backing vocals - see the story below. DRAM also shared the news that he and Erykah Badu's project is very much real so we can't wait to hear that one as well. Enjoy!
