Legendary producer and DJ Statik Selektah released his eighth studio album 8 today, and the list of features is giant. Over the 17 tracks, he has recruited Run the Jewels, 2 Chainz, Action Bronson, Joey Bada$$, G-Eazy, and many, many more.
Statik Selektah built up anticipation for this album by releasing "Put Jewels on It (feat. Run the Jewels)" and "Ain't a Damn Thing Change (feat. G-Eazy & Joey Bada$$), and the rest of the album does not disappoint. He still knows how to create a classic hip-hop beat that sounds incredibly fresh, and it's great to hear some of these rappers over something different for them. Some of the highlights include the contemplative track with No Malice, who was in the group The Clipse with Pusha T, and the throwback banger with Raekwon and Royce da 5'9.
The whole album is worth listening to for its standout beats, and some of the lesser known names really shine on this. Enjoy!
