It’s been roughly a year and a half since Canadian duo Zeds Dead announced the creation of their record label, Deadbeats. The young imprint has been on a tear ever since, signing and premiering artists with impressive sounds across genres. One of the most recent to join the label is Devault, a 21-year-old producer who’s been forging a fresh, future-style signature and drawing increased attention over the past year. Today we’re excited to be premiering the artist’s debut track with Deadbeats, “Don’t You Want To.”
Although he hasn’t been in the game long, Devault shows talent and production skills beyond his years with this release. “Don’t You Want To” is both sensual and sinister, with the two feels of the track blending throughout. He takes his time building the various dark elements of the track that pair well with haunting vocals throughout the intro. This nice build leads into a surprisingly high-energy drop, with a prominent synth pattern and chopped up vocals taking center stage. Altogether, “Don’t You Want To” is the perfect fit for Deadbeats, and we’re looking forward to seeing how Devault grows from here. Check it out below and enjoy!
