2017 was without a doubt the year of Gorillaz. After years and years of silence, the group erupted back on the scene in April with Humanz, a mammoth 26-track album with guest artists such as D.R.A.M., Pusha T and Vince Staples. And things didn’t stop there – they also launched an augmented reality app, announced plans for a TV series, created their own festival titled Demon Dayz, picked up a Grammy nom and much more.
Perhaps the most exciting, however, was Jaimie Hewlett’s announcement that yet another new Gorillaz album would drop in 2018. Now, in a newly launched website (find it here), Gorillaz seem to be teasing their newest album, The Now Now, due June 29. Although no members of Gorillaz have confirmed the title or release date, all signs are pointing to new music very, very soon. In the meantime, take a trip down memory lane with Humanz below. Enjoy!
